A Gen Swatches privacy policy

A Gen Swatches (“the app”) lets Shopify merchants show each product variant’s own photos and turn product options into swatches. This policy explains what the app collects when a merchant installs it, how that information is used, and how it is deleted.
What we collect
- Store details: the store’s myshopify domain and the access token Shopify issues when the app is installed, so the app can work with the store.
- Product information: a copy of product titles, handles, types, options and the IDs of product photos, used to arrange photos into colour groups and to list products in the app.
- Your configuration: the photo groups, swatch colours and images, and settings you choose in the app.
The app does not collect or store any personal information about your customers. It does not track shoppers. Photo groups and swatches are read by your theme from your own store, so shoppers’ browsers don’t send anything to our servers.
To arrange photos, the app downloads small copies of your product photos to compare their colours. Only the resulting colour summaries are kept, not the photos.
How we use it
Only to run the app: to arrange your product photos, to show the right photos and swatches on your storefront, and to keep everything in step with your products. We do not sell or share this information, and we do not use it for advertising.
What the app changes in your store
When you save or switch on image groups, the app sets each variant’s main photo and orders the product’s photos by colour. When you link swatches, it creates Shopify colour entries, may set a product category so swatches can be linked, and links the product’s colour option to them. Cropped swatch images are saved to your store’s Files.
Where it is stored
Your configuration is stored in our database and copied into your store as app metafields, which Shopify stores. Access is limited to the people who operate the app.
Deletion
When you uninstall the app, Shopify asks us to delete your store’s data 48 hours later, and we delete it then. You can ask us to delete it sooner by emailing us. Changes made in your store (variant photos, gallery order, swatches and files) stay in your store.
